Responsibilities of Registered Nurse (RN):
Assessment and Care Planning:
RNs conduct thorough assessments of the client’s health, create care plans, and oversee their implementation.
Medication Management:
RNs often manage complex medication regimens, including administration, dosage adjustments, and monitoring for potential drug interactions.
Wound Care and Complex Dressing Changes:
RNs are skilled in providing advanced wound care, managing more complex wounds, and ensuring proper healing.
IV Therapy Management:
RNs manage and administer intravenous medications and fluids, monitoring IV sites and addressing any complications.
Health Monitoring and Evaluation:
RNs continuously assess the client’s health status, identify changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
Patient and Family Education:
RNs educate clients and their families about health conditions, medications, treatments, and self-care techniques.
Coordination of Care:
RNs collaborate with other healthcare professionals, coordinate services, and communicate with physicians to ensure comprehensive care.
Supervision and Training of LPNs and Caregivers:
RNs provide guidance and supervision to LPNs and caregivers, ensuring that care is delivered safely and effectively.
Emergency Response:
RNs are trained to handle emergency situations, initiate appropriate interventions, and provide critical care as needed.
Advocacy:
RNs advocate for the client’s best interests, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected in the care process.
